Löffler’s syndrome

Inflammatory response to
- Parasites (e.g).
  - Ascaris
  - Strongyloides
  - Ancylostoma
- Drugs (e.g. aspirin, penicillin)
Characterised by proliferation of eosinophils
fever
wheezing
coughing
abdominal pain and cramping,
skin rashes
fatigue.
Dx
- Lab
  - eosinophilia
    - over 500 cells/mcL (<350cells/mcL= normal)
- CXR
  - Infiltrate
- CT
  - periphetral
  - non-segmental infiltrate
  - unilateral or bilateral.
  - usually not
    - pleural effusion
    - adenopathy
